چکیده

In atomic nuclei, as in other many–body systems, the classical phase space is mixed, so ordered and chaotic states generally coexist [1]. In this contribution we discuss some models, showing the transition from order to chaos. In several cases a clear correspondence between classical and quantum chaos has been established. In particular the transition from ordered to chaotic states will be discussed in the framework of the shell and roto–vibrational models. The spectral statistics of low–lying states of several fp shell nuclei are studied with realistic shell–model calculations [2]. Furthermore, for the roto–vibrational model the Gaussian curvature criterion of the potential energy clearly shows the transition from order to chaos for different values of rotational frequency [3].

Peeling the Onion of Order and Chaos in a High-dimensional Hamiltonian System

Coexistence of various ordered chaotic states in a Hamiltonian system is studied with the use of a symplectic coupled map lattice. Besides the clustered states for the attractive interaction, a novel chaotic ordered state is found for a system with repulsive interaction, characterized by a dispersed state of particles. The dispersed and clustered states form an onion-like structure in phase spa...

Coexistence of attractors in a one-dimensional CNN array

In this paper we investigate long-term (steady-state) behavior of a one-dimensional array of chaotic circuits for diierent connection strength. Using computer experiments we have connrmed the existence of a very large number of stable steady{states depending only on the initial conditions applied in the individual cells and on the connection strength. Of special interest is the coexistence of l...

Spin Ordering of Nuclear Spectra from Random Interactions *

Recent developments in many-body quantum chaos have raised the issue of correlations between different families of levels in the spectra of random fermionic systems. It seems that rotational invariance is sufficient to force an otherwise random system to have statistically ordered spectra where the ground state can have zero spin or the maximum spin allowed a huge portion of the time. We have t...

Neural Information Processing: between synchrony and chaos

The brain is characterized by performing many different processing tasks ranging from elaborate processes as pattern recognition, memory or decision-making to more simple functionalities as linear filtering in image processing. Understanding the mechanisms by which the brain is able to produce such a different range of cortical operations remains a fundamental problem in neuroscience. Some rece...

Latency Compensation in Multi Chaotic Systems Using the Extended OGY Control Method

The problem discussed in this paper is the effect of latency time on the OGY chaos control methodology in multi chaotic systems. The Smith predictor, rhythmic and memory strategies are embedded in the OGY chaos control method to encounter loop latency. A comparison study is provided and the advantages of the Smith predictor approach are clearly evident from the closed loop responses. The comple...
